The UK needs a stronger, more representative workforce for engineering and technology to thrive. We need more young people to realise there could be a future for them in engineering and tech. Many of them don't understand what the opportunities are – or the different ways to get into them. We want to change that.
Purpose and strategy
We’re a not-for-profit that drives change so more young people choose engineering and technology careers. Our strategy is based on our mission to enable more young people from all backgrounds to be informed, inspired and progress into engineering and tech. We do this through research and evidence, leadership, activities for schools and advocacy, with a focus on long-term sustainability.

EngineeringUK is a key organisation we are very engaged with. As part of this strategic alliance, we collaborate with like-minded businesses, sharing knowledge and expertise in a collective drive to inspire, engage and inform the next generation of engineers. This collaboration is key to investing in and delivering the future skills needed to create a global Britain and address complex issues such as the climate emergency, resilient communities and natural-resource stresses.

Governance and funding
We’re a not-for-profit with funding from business and individuals. Our Board of Trustees has 16 members.
Our work with schools
We offer free, curriculum-linked programmes so young people get hands-on with STEM and understand STEM careers.

Young people who attended a career event in the past 12 months are twice as likely to understand what engineers and scientists do in their jobs.
3x interest
Young attendees of career events within the past year are nearly 3 times more likely to show interest in pursuing an engineering career.
3.5x knowledge
School students who participated in one or more STEM career activities are 3.5 times more likely to know what engineering professionals do.
3.4x more likely
Students who attended one or more STEM career activities are 3.4 times more likely to consider choosing a career in engineering.
