Chief Executive Officer

Closing date: Apr 30, 2017

Organisation

EngineeringUK is an independent, not-for-profit organisation which is the main vehicle for the wider UK engineering community to promote engineering and technology into schools to inspire tomorrow’s engineers, and to improve the supply of engineers from the education system. We work in close partnership with many organisations to achieve this, especially the Royal Academy of Engineering, the Professional Engineering Institutions, STEM Learning and many of the UK’s major companies. The organisation has some 50 employees and in our outreach programmes to schools, children and their key influencers, we encourage and leverage the efforts of many thousands of others.

EngineeringUK is best known for its two flagship projects:

  • The Big Bang; the UK’s annual Young Scientists & Engineers Fair which attracted over 60,000 young people in March 2017 and reaches an additional 150,000 young people nationwide via local Fairs.
  • Tomorrow’s Engineers; a programme of coordinated schools outreach and careers inspiration which seeks to create the next generation of engineers.

These core programmes are supported by the extensively researched annual EngineeringUK report which is the go-to reference for government, industry and the education system on the state of the engineering sector.

Further information on EngineeringUK and profiles of the Directors can be found on its website which is www.engineeringuk.com.
