Our funding
EngineeringUK is a registered charity and our main source of income is from the registration fees of professionally registered engineers and technicians. We’re grateful to the members of Professional Engineering Institutions for this valuable financial contribution. Registration fees also fund the Engineering Council in its role as the regulatory body for the profession via a grant from EngineeringUK.
We are grateful for the funding we receive from our Corporate Members, who share our vision for a more diverse and thriving engineering and technology workforce. Our Corporate Members include the Professional Engineering Institutions and some of the country’s best-known engineering and tech companies. Additionally, we are fortunate to receive grant funding from organisations such as Gatsby as well as contributions from high net-worth individuals.
We also seek funding for our outreach programmes , activities and bursaries, which allows us to make them available to students in UK state schools free of charge. This additional funding enables us to expand our activities even further and ensure that young people experience interactive encounters with a range of employers.
The Big Bang Fair is made possible with support from a wide range of funders from across STEM industries, including EngineeringUK. The Big Bang Competition special awards are funded by the award sponsors. A list of funders is available each year.
Climate Schools Programme is possible through funding from Helsington Foundation. Helsington Foundation is a Climate Schools Programme funder for the period from September 2023 to August 2026. Energy Quest is powered by EUK Education, with grant funding from Shell. Shell is an Energy Quest funder for the period from September 2023 to December 2024.
