Our network

Strength in numbers

We want all young people to know about engineering and technology careers, to understand the routes in and be inspired to join the workforce. No single organisation can achieve that on its own, which is why we work collaboratively. We work with hundreds of organisations and companies across industry, education and government to drive the change needed for UK engineering and technology to thrive.

Industry partners

We work with employers of all sizes and across all sectors of engineering and technology. Our Corporate Members represent a diverse range of organisations where engineering and technology roles are critical. We work closely with them to support activity across of the range of efforts to secure the workforce of the future. We manage The Tomorrow’s Engineers Code, supporting a community of more than 300 organisations. Code members are committed to increasing the number and diversity of young people entering engineering and technology careers. Some industry partners directly fund our activities for schools from Climate Schools Programme and Energy Quest to Big Bang and bursaries.

Professional Engineering Institutions (PEIs) are important industry partners and play an important role in our governance. We work collaboratively with PEIs across all strands of our strategy. They contribute to, and we encourage them to use, our research and guidance on outreach activities. We work closely with the Royal Academy of Engineering as well as Engineering Council, with whom we share an office.

In Wales we work with Education Engineering Scheme Wales (EESW) and See Science and with Prosper in Scotland. We partner with careers organisations such as Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC), Careers England, Career Development Institute, Gatsby, The Skills Builder Partnership and Unifrog. We support National Careers Week and Green Careers Week. We work with STEM Learning, Primary Science Teaching Trust and UCL Engineering. We consult with teachers and careers leaders through our Teacher Network and Careers Working Group.

Careers Working Group

Our careers resources are created by our Careers Working Group, led by EUK Education. STEM LearningUCL EngineeringRoyal Academy of Engineering all have someone in the group. There is also a teacher from The John Warner School and representatives from Institute of PhysicsBCS, the Chartered Institute for IT, the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

Government

In 2024 we partnered on an apprenticeships inquiry led by former Labour and Conservative ministers Lord Knight and Lord Willetts. The resulting report sets out a 5-point plan aimed at addressing the barriers and concerns identified by businesses, education providers and young people. We work in partnership with the Department for Education (DfE) and sponsor The Apprenticeship All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) a cross-party group of MPs and peers to make sure apprenticeships are fit for purpose.
