Engineering Connections

This Wednesday saw the launch of Engineering Connections, our new event series.  We kicked off with a breakfast event “Driving Digital Transformation”, in partnership with Makers Academy, who hosted it at their offices in East London.

Speakers Doniya Soni from Greater London Authority, Tracey Jessup from Parliamentary Digital Service and Nick Street from Pivotal Labs shared their experiences of supporting the growth of digital skills in London, the implementation of digital systems in parliament and working with businesses to manage their transformation to an agile digital environment. While each speaker described a different context, the need to look beyond the technology to consider the human and cultural aspects of digital change programmes was a consistent thread and one that was also picked up in the audience questions.

We’ve launched Engineering Connections as a forum where we’ll look at some of the key topics impacting business today, hear from those with key insights and provide an opportunity for debate, shared learning and networking. Feedback from the first event was positive, with a real buzz in the room created by the opportunity to meet and network in a new environment on an interesting topic.  The next event will be on the theme of Gender in the Workplace in late June.  Keep your eyes out for more information soon.
