The Tomorrow Engineers Code launched in October 2020, supports collaboration in the engineering outreach community. The Code is a commitment to work toward common goals, to increase the number and diversity of young people entering engineering careers.
The Code has welcomed it’s 200th Signatory, marking a significant milestone since its launch in October 2020. Engenda Group was encouraged to sign up to The Code after also signing up to the ECITB (Engineering Construction Industry Training Board) Skills & Training Charter.
Gemma Meadows, Associate Director of Corporate Services at Engenda Group shared their motivation for joining The Code:
“Engenda Group are delighted to sign up to Tomorrow’s Engineers Code. As the 200th Signatory, we will be joining other companies as ambassadors for promoting engineering across multiple industries. Our own WISE values are aligned with The Code, (Working as a team, Innovating change, Safely adding value, Ethical integrity) and we believe that, combined, they will have a stronger impact. We look forward to designing and implementing activities to showcase our industry potential and to attract a wider pool of talent.”
Just missing out on being the 200th Signatory, The STEM Project signed up after attending the Tomorrow’s Engineers Live conference on 11th July.
Laura Giddings, Director at the STEM Project said this about why she joined The Code
“I signed The STEM Project up as a Signatory to The Code after attending the Tomorrow’s Engineers Live conference at The Royal Academy of Engineering. I was blown away by the speakers and I was keen to understand how The Code is creating change and making tangible and measurable impact. It was refreshing to see the genuine commitment of organisations supporting The Code, this is a real programme and not a box ticking exercise!
“By being a Signatory for The Code, The STEM Project is standing shoulder to shoulder with the 199 other Signatories, sharing the same ideals, ethos, and passions in inspiring current and future generations (and by extension those supporting them at home and in the classroom).”
The Code is delighted to welcome Engenda Group and The STEM Project and looks forward to working with them.
