EngineeringUK welcomes 5 new trustees to the Board

EngineeringUK has announced the appointment of 5 new trustees to their Board. They are: Alice Bunn, CEO of Institution of Mechanical Engineering, Carl Ennis, CEO of Siemens Smart Infrastructure, Nike Folayan, Technical Director at WSP, Erol Mustafa, a Partner at EY, and Steven Rossiter, CTO at Tekmar Group. These new trustees bring a wealth of experience and expert advice from their work in the engineering sector.

The EngineeringUK Board is made up of 16 members who meet 4 times a year and provides oversight and direction to the organisation, alongside support and constructive challenge.

Dr Alice Bunn became the CEO of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in July 2021 and was the former International Director at the UK Space Agency. This gave her the responsibility of increasing the UK’s global influence in science, security, and trade through space. Alice led teams responsible for ensuring international competitiveness through developing world class skills in the UK space sector.

Carl Ennis began his career through an apprenticeship route and has worked in the power industry for over 35 years. As well as being a Fellow of the IET, Carl is a Chartered engineer, sits on the President’s Committee of the CBI, is Chair of Net Zero North West, a member of the government’s Build Back Better Business Council and Investment Council, and a Visiting Professor of Practice at Newcastle University.

Nike Folayan MBE is a Chartered electronics engineer with a doctorate in electronics engineering. Her vision is to continue to empower people all around the world to use engineering as a platform to change the world. Nike is currently the Technical Director and the Technical Discipline Leader for within the Transport and Infrastructure Division of WSP, a global consulting firm. Nike is chair and co-founder of Association of Black, Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE-UK). She is also a trustee at Stemettes Futures, Patron at Croydon Supplementary School and on the engineering industrial panel at the University of Kent. Nike was awarded an MBE for diversity in engineering in the Queens 2020 honours list.

Erol Mustafa is a Partner at EY, serving many of EY’s largest clients to recognise the benefits of technology and data, whilst achieving regulatory, governance and compliance objectives. He is actively involved in EY’s Talent and Diversity & Inclusion agenda, and has led multiple initiatives to accelerate the inclusion of under-represented groups. Previously Vice President of Arcordia, Erol is a Chartered accountant, Certified Information Security Manager and Certified Information Systems Auditor.

Steven Rossiter is currently the CTO at Tekmar Group, which works to provide technology and services to the global offshore energy markets. He previously founded and served as Managing Director of AgileTek Engineering, in which he created a culture of innovation and technical excellence combined with a nurturing work environment. AgileTek was awarded the Best Small Company prize at the SubseaUK industry awards in 2018 in recognition for its drive to recruit the best young engineering talent into the industry. Steven is passionate about the EngineeringUK mission and is committed to developing the next generation of engineering talent.
