We base everything we do on evidence and we share our analysis and insight widely, with government, media, education and the engineering community.

We’ve undertaken comprehensive research into the state of engineering in the UK for over 20 years, providing a detailed examination of the engineering workforce and the industry’s contribution to the UK economy as well as the extent to which the supply through education and training pathways is likely to meet future needs and demand for engineering skills. We also measure public perceptions of engineers, engineering and careers in the industry.

This research and analysis support our work and we hope that in sharing publicly, it contributes to our collective understanding and that this shared insight will help drive more impactful engagement activity across the engineering community.

To measure and improve impact, we evaluate our activity, using the learnings to shape what happens next. We share our evaluation results as well as our methodology and tools to support activity across the engineering community.
