Overview

This report provides on overview of EngineeringUK EDI bursary schemes implemented during the 2022/23 academic year.

Our bursary schemes operate through several of our programmes (Robotics Challenge, Big Bang at School and The Big Bang Fair), as well as supporting access to Neon activities. We evaluated their impact using a mix of monitoring data, surveys and interviews.

Key findings

  • Teachers who receive our bursaries report that they wouldn't have been able to take part in the programmes without them
  • Teachers also report that the bursaries enable them to involve more students from underrepresented backgrounds
  • The majority of teachers report that the bursary improved the experience for their students
