About Neon
Neon is a popular website that brings together the best engineering experiences from across the engineering and tech outreach sector. It also features hundreds of inspiring stories of real people doing real jobs in engineering and technology.
Brilliant inspiration
The Neon website helps teachers bring STEM to life with real examples of engineering to inspire the next generation into engineering and technology careers. Neon aims to raise students’ aspirations and help them explore the world of engineering and technology.
Teachers use the site to search for the perfect activities for their class. With more than a hundred activities to choose from, teachers can filter by location, cost, topic and more to get resources, activities and case studies to suit their needs.
Neon quality standards
Quality is important. We want STEM teachers and their students to enjoy the very best engineering experiences, so we only feature activities that meet our quality criteria. Developed with input from the engineering outreach and Neon community, these standards mean that teachers can trust the activities they book. The standards also help make sure that every activity supports schools to meet their goals – such as meeting Gatsby Benchmarks.

Continuous improvement
As with everything we do, we want Neon to be the very best it can be. We draw on analytics and user feedback to continually develop Neon to suit the ever-changing needs of teachers. Sometimes these are small tweaks, while other projects are more involved.
Sharing your activities
Do you have an activity you’d love to share with schools? Then we’d love to see it on Neon! Consider Neon your very own shop window for teachers to browse. It’s free to host activities on Neon, and you can target your audience to support your organisation’s goals.
