What I Do

As Head of Research, I lead a brilliant team of researchers and analysts. We work with teams across the organisation to gather insights from and for our programmes, and with partners to deliver new and collate existing data of interest to the sector. We focus our work on establishing the composition of the current engineering and technology workforce, future workforce needs and how to address them, and understanding the opinions and experiences of young people’s engagement with STEM subjects and activities.

Bio & Background

I am a researcher with 10 years’ experience researching education, skills, employment, and diversity. Prior to joining EngineeringUK I worked in a range of research and policy roles, at the Federation of Small Businesses, the Learning and Work Institute, Kantar Public, and YouGov. Predominantly through these roles I have worked with charities and the public sector, including working with the Department for Education, Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, the Department for Work and Pensions, and the Department for Business and Trade.
