Applications to volunteer at The Big Bang Fair and the Tomorrow's Engineers EEP Robotics Challenge are now open.

The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair

Help inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers at the largest annual celebration of STEM for young people in the UK.

The 2019 Big Bang Fair will take place at the NEC in Birmingham from 13-16 March, and the Big Bang team need 100 volunteers each day to support them in the smooth running of the event. With almost 80,000 visitors over 4 days in 2018, The Big Bang Fair simply couldn’t run without the support of amazing volunteers.

Volunteering opportunities across 1 to 4 days range from leading volunteer teams and delivering hands-on activities, to sharing careers inspiration and judging student projects.

Robotics Challenge

Help inspire the next generation of engineers at more than 20 schools and events across the UK between January and March 2019.

The Robotics Challenge is the culmination of an extra-curricular or in-school programme where students learn how to build, program and control autonomous LEGO® robots. Student teams across the country compete all the way from regional heats to the UK final at The Big Bang Fair.

As a Robotics event volunteer you will play a supporting role, helping make the experience truly exciting and memorable for the students. As a volunteer judge you will celebrate and assess the different elements of the challenge, both at regional heats and at the UK final.
